The Emirati INDEX Holding Organize the First Investment Partnership Forum in the Capital New Delhi
May 7, 2018 - 6 minutes readNew Delhi – India, May 17th 2017: the UAE national company INDEX Holding, organized the first Investment Partnership Forum in New Delhi yesterday in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in India, the UAE India Business Council and the Confederation of Indian Industry CII. The forum was marked by the attendance of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India and H.E. Ahmed Hareb Al Falahi, Commercial and Trade Attache at the UAE Embassy in India, in addition to more than 120 company directors and investors form India and officials and representatives from the financial, investment and health sectors at INDEX Holding.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India welcomed in his opening speech all attendees and reiterated on the importance of these meetings which reflect the active role of the private sector in the UAE and India. He also stressed on the strategic relations between the two countries and the special trade exchange between them. In addition, the UAE and India are keen on developing a strategic bond between the private companies in the UAE and India and provide all the support required to maintain this relationship.
H.E. Ahmed Al Banna also expressed his eagerness to develop and support this mutual investment and trade relations. He also referred to the interest of the UAE leadership and their Indian counterpart to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries through the joint visits between the leaders of both countries. H.E. Al Banna respectively mentioned the late visit of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to India and the last visit of the Indian Prime Minister, H.E. Narendra Modi to the UAE.
H.E. Ahmed Al Banna also called on all Indian companies to take advantage of this opportunity and get introduced to potential investment opportunities in the UAE through participating in the variety of exhibitions held in the UAE. He also called for strengthening and supporting economic and investment partnerships between private companies in both countries and benefiting from the rich environment and facilities available to various sectors in the UAE and participating in exhibitions.
On another note, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding welcomed all attendees and expressed his gratitude to H.E. Ahmed Al Banna and the employees at the UAE embassy in India for their effort and support while organizing this forum and make it a big success. Dr. Al Madani also said: “we have a very strong and sustainable relations with Indian companies through the massive Indian participations in the conferences and exhibitions organized by INDEX in the UAE, which exceed 27 specialized conferences and exhibitions annually. The nature of our conferences and exhibitions vary to include health, investment, entertainment, medical tourism, franchises, branding and many more.”
Moreover, and on the sidelines of the forum, INDEX Holding and the UAE India Business Council in New Delhi signed a memorandum of understanding that aims to encourage business, investment and partnership opportunities between the two sides. The MOU which took place at the Leela Palace Hotel in New Delhi was signed by Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding and Mr. Abdul Salam, Director General of the UAE India Business Council in New Delhi.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani Chairman of INDEX Holding said: “we are seeking through this MOU to build bridges between the two countries and encourage partnerships and investment opportunities with the Indian subcontinent. Therefore, we have invited the members of CII and UIBC and gave them the chance to engage in a fruitful dialogue and business discussion with representatives from INDEX Holding who came to New Delhi for this purpose.”
Dr. Al Madani also said: “Through this forum, they will get exposed to different business opportunities available in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates; covering the Healthcare, Trading and Events Management sectors.”
The purpose of this MOU is to expand cooperation and specify a framework of cooperation between the two sides and assistance in facilitating trade and investments between the UAE and India. In addition, the MOU will help in creating synergies through inviting stakeholders from various industries to patriciate in events held in the UAE and India.
Dr. Al Madani also said: “my team in Dubai and I will be working diligently to facilitate the transfer and exchange of trade and business information and expertise between investors for the mutual benefit.”
Moreover, INDEX Holding and in cooperation with the UAE India Business Council shall cooperate in organizing workshops, seminars, exhibitions, conferences and many more activities.
